Finished 2021-11-23

Great explanation of an incredibly complex topic.

Gives lots of scale examples if you were a blood cell, then your body would be like X mount Everests

Tries to cut through bat terminology (a red blood cell is a vague wrapper term that includes many small parts that all do different jobs).

Gives crazy visual explanations, Neutrophils being crazed murders who split open their chest to attack you with their ribcage. Makes it easy to remember.

There is some clever simple systems with proteins and checks that allows complex behavior to develop, it really should be a spy movie or short film to see the drama that goes on to see how cells are vetted for healthy or sick.

The thymus stops working as we age (which means we can’t build new immunity on our own over time). Prolonging this could let us age better or live longer.

Macrophages eat stuff and clean up.

You body is a tube. Skin barrier on both sides of that.

We used to have worms a lot more.

Gives detailed reasons why most boost your immune system things are bogus and why you would not want this to happen if they did.
