We assume things must be true, even things we say, until we can prove them false.

this relates to what I just said about generating beliefs and opinions in real time when we just talk there is a kind of confabulatory process here where until it sounds wrong it sounds right you are looking for errors in your own speech and unless an alarm goes off when we say is passing for what in fact you believe in that could be true I totally novel statement which I’ve never made or thought in your life

That to spot the error is an additional step in the mere comprehension of a statement and does at least provisionally entail its acceptance. Your stating a proposition is analogous to you perceiving an object in physical space our default setting may be to accept appearances as reality until they prove to be otherwise.
