Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.

“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.” I had no idea that the full quote by Oscar Wilde was so much better than the more frequently seen shortened one.

I know Mr de With has also pointed out that when learning music we teach by imitating others, you listen to and learn others songs and performances. But in design it can be looked down on when you copy. But this is a proven method to teach and learn, to imitate.
